I obtained my FCC 'First Phone' in 1959 and went to work for Harold Thomas at WATR-TV. I never pulled a shift at West Peak, even though I studied under Bob Corbett, because they needed someone immediately at the AM transmitter in Waterbury. From there I went to WWCO as CE in 1960, and eventually to WBRY. Did engineering and announcing. Worked briefly for WNVR June-July 1973 after leaving active duty USAF. Off to grad school in Fall 1973. I remember when WOWW signed on as we lived in Naugatuck. Awful "Red Carpet Radio" format appealed to very small audience, while WWCO and WATR ruled the local airwaves. and WBRY also was a strong competitor with CBS Soaps, morning talk show, etc.

Jennifer DeAngelis So sorry for your loss. I have old street sheets (calanders) from the early 80s of WHCN and I think one has a picture of your Dad. I will look tonight and scan it to you. Sincerely, Paul Dente

I'm working on a documentary about Jackie Robinson, and seeking audio from the concerts that he and his family hosted in Stamford Connecticut every summer from 1963 to 1971. Do you know of any? Alternatively, do you know of any interviews with Jackie or his familY? Any leads would be appreciated! Thank you!
