On April 14, 2011 the two middle towers of WELI's four tower directional AM array were demolished because they had developed structural problems.
Close up of tower bases.
All four towers moments before Northeast Towers from Farmington, CT started the demo of the two center towers.
Careful planning was required to make sure that the tower fell away from the building!
It took all of about 4 seconds for the tower to come down! Above pictures courtesy of Robert Meister.
This is the base of one of the original WELI towers dating back to the thirties.
